There has been news this week from the World Health Authority regarding various ingredients in tobacco cigarettes. It seems that there is to be a ban on certain flavourings.
Some countries have already seen a drop in cigarette use in recent years, in part due to strict no smoking rules, so this news will be a futher blow for the tobacco industry.
Whilst tobacco smoking is declining, the use of electronic cigarettes is rising. E-cigs, which have been around for a few years now, are becoming more and more popular as news of them spreads.
The e-cig is now widely available in many countries and can be easily purchased over the internet. The device, which looks and feels like the real thing, is rechargable and comes without the dangerous additives which are present in normal cigarettes.
There is also the advantage that they are much cheaper than their dangerous alternative. With tax rises on tobacco likely to keep on rising, once the e-cig kit has been purchased, only refill cartridges are needed, making the overall cost much less.
They can be smoked anywhere as no smoke is emitted, which also stops the dangers of passive smoking.
Many people have started to use the e-cigarette and then found that they have been able to stop smoking altogether. This fact has got to be the most positive factor in the growing popularity of the e-cigarette.
